Hello, I’m Nicole Carlson.

I have spent nearly two decades working in Human Resources across both private and public sectors organizations. My career began on the front lines of local government and evolved into leadership roles focused on employee relations, organizational development, internal communication, and building stronger workplace cultures across complex public organizations.

After serving in a senior HR leadership role at the City of Casper (WY) for almost a decade, I made a career transition at the beginning of 2026 into a role that blends my experience and passion for HR with leadership development. Today, I work for an HR technology company, advising HR professionals and executive leaders in the public sector on workforce strategy and operational efficiency.

Throughout my career, I encountered a consistent challenge: employees who were promoted into leadership positions because they excelled in their roles, not because they were taught how to be effective leaders. That gap is where most workplace issues begin, and it is what ultimately inspired me to create Culture Club.

Culture Club focuses on the intersection of leadership development and real-world HR practice, helping individuals and teams build the skills, awareness, and confidence needed to lead effectively and shape healthier workplaces. My approach is grounded in practical experience, not theory, and shaped by nearly 20 years of seeing what actually works inside organizations.

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of Wyoming and an Associate's degree in Business Administration from Casper College. I have also maintained my Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification for nearly a decade and have led initiatives spanning employee engagement, talent development, organizational change, and culture improvement.

Outside of work, I spend my time traveling, attempting CrossFit, and entertaining my energetic pup, Lucy Bean. I’m also the Chief Sugar Officer at Spun, a gourmet cotton candy venture, and an extra involved auntie. I’m drawn to honest conversations, continuous growth, and helping people show up more intentionally in both leadership and life.
